IT Info they don’t tell you
My laptop battery was crapping out but it’s barely two years old and up until recently it was working perfectly, so I’m pretty sure it’s not the battery itself that’s a problem.
After much Googling I came across a website that suggested I update the BIOS for my computer. I’m no IT Tech but I do understand most of what’s going on and I’ve never in my life heard anyone talk about BIOS or that you should update them like you update your software. It seems that your computer manufacturer updates all sorts of things that would make your computer run better… but no one ever encourages this because I guess it means your computer would last longer before needing to be replaced.
All sorts of things get updated - like the speed at which your fan runs, or computer’s ability to handle new software. There was a whole list of things that got updated and it’s all free and on your manufacturers website.
Word of warning - make sure you’re choosing updates for the exact make, model and parts number or you could run into some problems. I wasn’t sure so I called Toshiba Canada and they told me what to pick to make sure I got it right.
